Horror On The Orient Express
The Aklo is an ancient system of words and symbols that many who study occult lore believe predate any officially recognized civilization. Some declare it to be the language of Atlantis, or of the primal human tongue before the fall of the Tower of Babel.
There is no known system of translating the Aklo, and those few authorities who have openly studied it say it is unlikely to be an actual coherent language. It could be no more than a decorative design motif.
Mages and true practitioners of the hidden arts know the Aklo is a powerful system for structuring and channelling mystic power. Many systems of runes, magical scripts, and cabalistic lore are fundamentally attempts to organize and master what is hidden in the Aklo. Attempting rituals and incantations directly from the Aklo is believed to be too risky and unpredictable with the limited understanding of the modern world — or at least such is the belief in the more beneficent and Light oriented circles of occult practice.
